Sonja Grimsley and Kristy Kleene Receive the 2020 Tolerance Week Courage to Teach Award

Sonja Grimsley, right, and Kristy Kleene, who team-teach 8th Grade English Language Arts at East Middle School received the 2020 Tolerance Week Courage to Teach Award.  They attended the Paper Clips Teacher’s Workshop in the summer of 2018.  Their students were going to present at the 2020 Tolerance Week Student Event at the Orpheum Theatre, which was canceled only a few weeks before it was scheduled due to Covid-19.   Dr. Mike Rogers recommended them as attendees and the students who have attended since are recipients of the Dr. Mike Rogers Scholarship for Tolerance Education.
